StarBand Satmodem and Antenna System

The StarBand SkyEdge satmodem is the interface between your computer or network and the StarBand dish. Both StarBand offerings use the same antenna system.

	The StarBand Nova series SkyEdge Satmodem and Antenna
	Nova 1000  - 1 watt transmitter.  Nova 1500 - 2 watt transmitter.

The StarBand SkyEdge satellite modem is suitable for residential customers who want high-speed Internet access at an affordable price. This modem is compatible with operating systems supporting TCP/IP protocol such as Windows®, Macintosh®, Unix® and Linux®.  Because there are no Windows-based software components required, the SkyEdge satmodem can be plugged directly into a firewall / router combination - a course of action that we highly recommend. StarLAN Consulting Services strongly recommends that you do so for the sake of the safety and security of your private personal and business data.

The StarBand antenna is a 24in by 36in ellipse and comes with a one watt or a two watt transmitter. The one watt transmitter is standard on the Nova Pro system; the two watt transmitter comes only with the StarBand Nova Ultimate system. These transmitters are two to four times the power of those offered by HughesNet.
